Registration
Procedure
About the Camp
Camp Winnataska has a dining hall, infirmary with a registered nurse
on duty (24 hours a day), canteen, gym with basketball court, canoes,
stables
and
a new barn, activity fields, swimming pool, craft hut, ropes courses,
33-acre lake and miles of hiking trails.
Campers live in cabins with campers of the same age. The huts are named
for Indian tribes: Seminole, Creek, Chickasaw, Cherokee, Choctaw, and
Navajo. Each cabin has beds with mattresses, electricity, and nearby
bathhouse. Four or five counselors stay in the cabins with the campers.
Mail
Because the quality and quantity of meals served each day will be more
than adequate for the campers and food in the huts can create problems,
please do not send food items to your camper. Mail sent to the Birmingham
address may never reach your child.
We request NO LARGE PACKAGES, PLEASE! Send campers' mail in nothing
bigger than a manila envelope!!
Letters to the campers should
be addressed to:
Name of Camper
Cabin Name
Camp Winnataska
260 Winnataska Dr.
Pell City, AL 35128
Emergency Telephone Number:
Emergency telephone calls should be made
to 205.640.4248. The emergency message will be handled through the
Program Director and then be delivered to the camper.
