Growing in Faith and Confidence
Dear Parents,
I would like to start my letter to you in gratitude for the opportunity to be able to get to know your child(ren) this summer. Camp Winnataska has been a special place for me and my family for many decades. My dearest friends are from Camp; I met my husband at Camp; and now I have the privilege of being a parent of a camper, just like you! I was a camper, served as a Leader, staff member, Program Specialist, in the office, Weekly Director and now as Camp Director.
As the Camp Director, my goal is always to provide your child with a safe and fun week growing in their faith and confidence to try new things. The season of hiring our staff members and leaders has just begun and I would love for you to join me in praying for this process! As always, we have high expectations for our staff members and will take nothing but the best.
Like I said previously, my dearest friends are from Camp and really I think that is the best thing about Camp… meeting new friends. Most campers come with a buddy and many come with a crowd of fellow friends from their community. I would encourage you to talk to your child about meeting new friends while at Camp this summer. Stepping outside the box and including someone they do not know can not only make a difference in someone’s Camp experience, it also helps them to utilize a skill that will help them for the rest of their life.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me with any questions or concerns you may have.
Caitlin Thorington
Camp Director
